Washington Tuna Classic comes to Westport

Since 2009, the Westport Marina has welcomed the Washington Tuna Classic bringing anglers from across the Northwest for a weekend full of fishing and fun as teams compete to bring in the biggest and the most Albacore Tuna, while local foodbanks benefit.

This year’s 13th Annual Washington Tuna Classic featured 25 teams.  The Washington Tuna Classic is hosted by Mission Outdoors, a non-profit serving the veteran community.  Dozens of veterans are taken onboard fishing trips throughout the weekend.  All of the tuna caught is locally processed and canned by Merino’s Seafood and donated to Coastal Harvest Food Bank to be distributed to local food banks.
