Port of Grays Harbor to offer public tours
July 2013 - Grays Harbor residents wanting to get a first-hand look at the activity happening at the Port of Grays Harbor will have their chance this summer. The Port will be hosting four opportunities for public tours in July and more may be added later in the summer, if needed.
The hour and a half tours will begin with a brief overview presentation of Port history and current happenings, followed by a van tour of the marine terminals. “Many citizens throughout the county have expressed their interest in attending public tours this summer. We are happy to oblige and look forward to hosting all those interested to show them first-hand the growth we have experienced in the past few years”, noted Port Commission President, Chuck Caldwell.
The tours will be offered on Tuesday, July 16th at 3:00pm and 5:30pm and again on Tuesday, July 23rd at 3:00pm and 5:30pm. Reservations are required, as space is limited. To reserve your spot, or for more information, call 360-533-9528.
Founded in 1911, the Port of Grays Harbor is one of Washington State’s oldest port districts and Washington’s only deep-water port located directly on the Pacific Ocean. The Port of Grays Harbor operates four deep-water marine terminals, the Westport Marina, Bowerman Airport and numerous industrial and business parks throughout the region. The addition of Satsop Business Park increases the Port’s properties to more than 1,000 acres of industrial properties and an additional 1,300 acres of sustainably managed forestland. The Westport Marina is Washington State’s largest commercial fish landing port, accounting for more than half of all commercial seafood landed in the State.
