The Port of Grays Harbor Special Commission Meeting on June 29, 2018 was called to order at 9:03 a.m.

Mike Folkers, Director, Finance & Administration led the meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance.

PROCEDURAL DISCUSSION:
After introductory remarks, Commissioners Thompson and Pinnick recessed the meeting to an Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the qualifications of applicants for the vacancy on the Port Commission.

RECESS TO EXECUTIVE SESSION 9:09 a.m.

MEETING RECONVENED 9:24 a.m.

DISCUSSION:
Port Commissioner Pinnick thanked all the applicants who applied for the position and stated that he was pleased with all of their qualifications. Commissioner Thompson agreed with Mr. Pinnick on the applicants and their qualifications.

Commissioner Thompson put forth the name Phil Papac for appointment as Port Commissioner for District 1. Stan Pinnick agreed with Commissioner Thompson’s recommendation that Phil Papac be appointed Commissioner for District 1when the vacancy occurs August 1, 2018.

ACTION ITEM:
A motion to direct the Port Staff to place on the July 10, 2018 agenda a Statement of Intent to appoint a Phil Papac to be the Port Commissioner for District 1 effective August 1, 2018 was made by Commissioner Thompson and seconded by Commissioner Pinnick. Motion passed with a vote of 2-0.
